A beautiful place for a walk in nature by the water. The Zúgov waterfalls in the northeast of the town of Nové Zámky are part of the Zúgov protected natural area. They are located on the Nitra River, which divides Zúgov into two branches, which reconnect at the cascades. The name Zúgov comes from the Hungarian language, the word "zúgó" describes the sound of humming, falling water. They have built a small hydroelectric power plant on one of the branches. Even with the new power plant, however, it is still a nice place.
How to get there: The Zúgov waterfalls can be reached on foot, by bicycle (along the red Ponitrianská magistrala), and by car.Foto: brainmanpictures.piwigo.com
